Skills training on facial soft tissue augmentation of beginner injectors using dyed hyaluronic acid on the forehead and temples of fresh frozen cadavers
Abstract
This study is aimed to determine the percentage of successful product placement of beginner injectors on the forehead and temple of fresh frozen cadavers using dyed Aliaxin® SR after participating in a skills training focused on soft tissue augmentation of the upper face. A descriptive study was conducted among all 72 attendees of Minimally Invasive Facial Aesthetic Surgery (MIFAS) 18 and 19 in Metro Manila, Philippines. Data were collected by observation of injection outcomes through dissecting the layers of the cadaver’s forehead and temple and visualizing the dyed HA product on the target layer post-injection. Results showed that 100% of injectors successfully placed the dyed HA filler on the supraperiosteal plane of the forehead and the intrafascial plane of the temple. This study suggests that injectors were given high-quality training for HA filler injection of the forehead and temple, giving them enough knowledge, experience, and confidence in their practices to improve overall outcomes of their patients.
